Background
With the popularity of small‐sized commercial Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), hostile use of Low, Slow and Small (LSS) UAVs become one of the most intensively increasing threats for civilian and military spheres. The LSS UAV is characterized as a low altitude, slow speed, and small radar cross-section (RCS) target and is difficult to be detected. The LSS UAVs began to be widely used by militaries and non‐state actors (terrorist, insurgent, criminal, corporate and activist threat groups) all over the world. Therefore, it is urgent to develop new interception technologies for LSS targets.
Research content
Research the vision-based multi-UAV cooperative target tracking problem, detect and identify the LSS targets through multi-source heterogeneous sensors, and perform distributed fusion of the acquired information to obtain target motion state information.
Research the decision-making problem of multi-UAV cooperative interception based on distributed optimization, establish a distributed objective optimization function model of multi-UAV system, and design a multi-UAV cooperative intercept decision-making algorithm based on distributed optimization.
Research the multi-UAV cooperative formation interception method based on time-space coverage, introduce the interception time and formation configuration constraints, design the multi-UAV formation interception controller, and analyze the stability of the formation interception controller under the space-time constraints.
